🥘 Ingredients
4 veal shanks
1 can crushed tomatoes
1 cup white wine
2 carrots, diced
2 celery stalks, diced
1 onion, diced
Flour for dredging
Gremolata
👨🍳 Instructions
1. Season veal shanks with salt and pepper, dredge in flour
2. Heat olive oil and butter in large Dutch oven
3. Brown veal shanks on all sides, remove and set aside
4. Sauté diced onions, carrots, and celery until soft
5. Add minced garlic, cook 1 minute
6. Pour in white wine, scrape up browned bits
7. Add crushed tomatoes and beef broth
8. Return veal to pot, bring to simmer
9. Cover and braise in 325°F oven for 2-3 hours until fork-tender
