🥘 Ingredients
2 cans chickpeas, drained
1 onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic
1 cup fresh parsley
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp coriander
¼ cup flour
Baking powder
Oil for frying
👨🍳 Instructions
🥫 Step 1: Prep chickpeas
Drain and pat chickpeas very dry with paper towels.
🔪 Step 2: Blend ingredients
Pulse chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander in food processor until coarse.
🌾 Step 3: Add flour
Add flour and ½ tsp baking powder. Pulse until mixture holds together.
❄️ Step 4: Chill
Refrigerate mixture for 30 minutes to firm up.
⚽ Step 5: Form balls
Shape mixture into small balls, about 1.5 inches diameter.
🔥 Step 6: Heat oil
Heat 2 inches of oil in pot to 350°F.
💦 Step 7: Fry falafel
Fry falafel in batches, 3-4 minutes until deep golden brown.
🧻 Step 8: Drain
Remove to paper towel-lined plate to drain.
🍽️ Step 9: Serve
Serve in pita with tahini sauce and pickled vegetables!
